2024 Archery Tip of the Week #4

Another important equipment task is to make sure your arrows are straight. Some easy way to test straightness are:
Eye Test: Hold the arrow at eye level and visually inspect it, looking down the length of the arrow. Roll the arrow slowly, looking for any noticeable bends or wobbles. Make sure to look over the entire length of the arrow.
Hand Spinning Test: Spin the arrow between your fingers while closely observing the shaft. A straight arrow should spin smoothly without any noticeable wobbling or oscillation. If there's a wobble, it indicates a potential bend in the arrow.
Table Top Test: Gently roll the arrow on a flat and smooth surface, such as a table. The arrow should move without veering off course or exhibiting erratic behavior. Any deviations may indicate bends or imperfections.
